Regrets

Being on one of the pilot classes of our batch, I'm surrounded by people hopeful of the latin honors. Honestly, yes, I also do hope for that. But not as much as they do. I have long ago let go of that dream since that 'tres' I got from my literature class. :] I didn't spend much time computing whether I can get in or not, all I know I'm 0.04 behind of the 'cum' last semester.

But there's still this inch of me that regrets not being one of the awardees. A voice telling me I cold have done better. :] There's this three subjects that could have changed everything in today's time point. Two of them I blame on the professor. As one fanpage in FB says 'Minsan hindi sa estuyante, minsan sa Prof talaga."' The remaining, I blame how far my place is.

Rizal course and Literature, where I got 2.5 and 3.0 respectively, are those subjects that no matter how hard I really try to get high scores, I just can't seem to. These are those subjects too that I should, at least, be thankful that I was able to get a passing grade. I should be thankful? Eh, whatever.

Then came this another subject, Community Development, where all misfortune happens to me every schedule of this subject. And again, I should at least be thankful I passed. Eh, whatever. :D

So there, goodbye latin honors forever. :]

NOTE

I am delayed with my 365. I have 6 photos due, that would be Day 45 to Day 50, if I'm not mistaken. No, it has nothing to do that the next due post is actually February 14. I'm not overly bitter of the day so don't make a connection of me having to stop by that day of my project, ok? :)

It's just that I've been busy with school for the past week. It's only now that the thought of 'your-college-life-is-doomed' starts to creep me out. And it's only actually today that I had my off from school since Feb. 10 (Day 41) and that's because the rotation for the final term has started. So yeah, I just wanted to say that I do not know until when will this being busy take place because another hassle stuff came - Community duty. We'll be practicing COPAR for the last 3 weeks left in our college life, and to mind you, just the thought of all this thing for CO is makes me go "Huh?" *insert straight face*.

Last Semester

Unusual how we long to meet the end when we're at the beginning,
and how we wanted to slow things down when we're reaching the end...

Seems that everything's going fast. Few months from now, I'll be graduating from my Bachelor of Science in Nursing course. Last Thursday, I just had my last enrollment (at least, for my undergraduate course for now). It's amazing how I look back in the past years and tell myself, "you've gone and passed through all that."

But with all honesty, I think I'm still not prepared
for the things ahead after I graduate. Yes, there will be the need to review for the board exams and finally pass it and be called a RN, but that's given. What I'm unprepared of is the letting go of the student life and be more matured and to take life more seriously; 'cause you know, I'm just not that person.

But there's no way life's gonna stay that way forever. Just like anything else that I've dealt with in my life, I have to move on and accept that changes will really come, it must.

At this point, I really want to slow things down before they end. But I know I can't. The more now that everything will be fast paced and again, with just a snap of the finger, we see ourselves with those "see you again."

Maybe we enjoyed the ride so much
we don't want it to end.

October 22, 2009

It's been hell of a week.

Finally, first sem's over and it's officially sembreak. :)
Let me just list down the things that kept me from blogging, no matter how strong my urge to write was:
1) Make-up duties.

2) Humanities shoot and video editing.

3) Research.
At last, we're done with this sh*t. Last 16th, Group 16 (our group) were the last persons to leave the school (which was at about 10:45 PM already), because of our defense! Yeah, we stayed that late 'cause we're the last group and would you believe that after the 6-hours-of-waiting, we've only defended our thesis for 20 minutes?

4) Final Exams.
10.17. The day after defense, we had exams for the our 3 subjects. Yeah, just three... 'cause we only got three subjects, you know.

5) Revalida.
10.18. Glad, it turned out well! :) I was lucky to get one of the easiest topics and questions I think. Thank God.

6) Make up classes and unit exams.

7) Comprehensive Exam.
10.20. This is actually, come-what-may to me. Not worried too much about this. :) Though it's weight is actually the same with that of revalida.

I actually have a few stories to tell and some rantings to do. But I guess not now. And I also guess, some of those are better left untold. :) Just because the word RESPECT is on my vocabulary.

Staring at the Blank Page

Listening to: Insomnia [Acoustic] - Craig David

I'm wanting to have a sensible post but then there's nothing so interesting for me to tell. So I guess this would just be random thoughts I had for the past days.

1. Something to do.
Oh yes! After how many days of being in what they call summer break, I'm still thinking of what to do. That means something other than net surfing and changing my blog layout because my contentment never cease whenever I hopped on others sooo envious pages. :D

I know I can't go out the house except for family trips. I maybe allowed for certain instances but not ALL the time. I do not have money either, and I don't want to ask them for some. So I need to resort on doing something inside the house. And until now, I haven't found an answer. Yes, after looong time of being bum, I'm bummer more than ever.

I've tried every possible way that I could get hook on to something worth spending my time.
  • I've tried editing pictures, but I realized that's not really so sensible.
  • I've read a few chapters of this novel, which has great reviews on the cover, but then I stopped after finding out that it does not fit that much with my interest plus it has some bed scenes included. :D
  • I've tried out playing some songs with the guitar.
  • And now I'm down to being a radio freak. I'm not hearing music from the computer, instead I have my phone on radio to keep me going. And I think it's the nicest thing I have done so far this whole boring vacation I'm having. Nothing beats music. ;)

2. Officially enrolled.

I had my enrollment last Monday. It'll be an all-duty-summer-class. Our batchmates told us it will be four times a week and that this summer class will give us four units. Eh? Yes, 4 units for 22 thousand Php. o.o My worries now is that I only got 2 clinical uniforms. And if ever we'll be assigned in Health Centers, I only have 1 RLE uniform.

Speaking of Health Centers, summer is the time of the year young boys underwent this rite of passage to be called big boys. If you're a Pinoy, you should know what I mean. ;) That makes me look forward to be on duty on Health Centers this summer. I hope that didn't make me sound a pedophile.

3. Missing Friends.
I miss hanging and being crazy with my friends. Both my high school and college barkada. Again for the same reasons stated above. Luckily, I think me and NBA [my high school friends] will have a reunion again. I just wish it wouldn't be during the days when I'll be at the province as part of our usual Holy Week. With my college friends though, I'm not so sure when can we meet up again, I'm praying it'll be soon.

I guess that's it for now. :)

Pinapatunayan mong pang HS ka lang.

Definition of terms:
HS - Human Sexuality; Isang concept namin nung 1st sem under Maternal & Child Nursing, all about things regarding the 3-letter word sex.
ICF - Intracellular Fluid
ECF - Extracellular Fluid

Tuesday last week, natapos na ang concept na Oxygenation kay Sir Basmayor. That would mean a new concept for the next meeting (Fluids & Electolytes). That next meeting started yesterday. New concept, new lecturer. And I don't think we can still stand her for the next 4 days of lecture...

1st Encounter in the 4 hours long NCM.
* She's late.
* She just discussed (or rather oo4 discussed) anatomy of the Urinary System and some electrolytes. It took her time before she finished writing the electrolytes and their charges which she asked from us. She had this alibi of "Mas madali ko kasing matandaan 'pag dinrawing ko. May acronym kasi ko 'don." But even after she drawn whatsoever, she still cannot easily get what's suppose to be in the ICF or ECF.
* When somebody mentioned that another part of the Urinary System is the urethra, I cannot recall from where did she started questioning 'Are the boys really visual?'. She asked almost all the boys what part of a girl / boy (if a gay) are they sexually attractive to. I just cannot see the relevance. Plus, almost half of the time in the discussion was just alloted to that part, which was not even necessary for the Fluids and Electrolytes.
* She gave a 40-item quiz.

2nd Encounter:
* As I would quote Niko's GM:
Mga natutunan sa NCM today.
- Osmosis needs ATP
- 'K' ang Calcium
- Pwedeng pambura ng whiteboard ang panty liner.
"Yah that's right!"
"Very good. Very good."
"That's nice. "
"Nandyan naman yan sa handouts diba?"
* According to her OWN handouts. Osmosis and diffusion (which she actually spelled difussion on the whiteboard) are under Passive transport. So where the hell did she brought up a question like "What among these 2 needs energy?"

* She even differentiated the two (Os&Diff) as to the permeabilty of the membranes. She said that in osmosis, there is a membrane while in diffusion, there is none. O.O

* When a classmate of ours recited, she threw this lines on her "Ay ang ganda niya o. Mukha siyang G.R.O."

* She was insisting about giving a quiz when all the while she really had taught nothing. Everything was an argument whether or not what she said was true or whether we'll believe her or not.

What We Thought Was For Long...

... needs to be cut short.

It was just saddening how it had to halt when it was not even close to reaching the peak.

Maybe that was the point of all this, to stop it before it's stronger... before the bonds become unbreakable, and before the hurting gets much harder once they try to do it later on.

Partings.
I never believed them to be an end. For all ends should be happy; and this feeling I have now is far from happy. I feel like a hopeless soul trying to wake up to what I dream to be just a nightmare. But no matter how I slap my face, the more I realize, indeed, it's reality I'm living now, I'm facing now, I'm hurting with now.

Months.
To think it would just be a fraction of my whole college life, I feel depressed more than ever. I or we rather, had encountered numerous bulletin boards in this entire Institute-of-Nursing-life, but I consider this last one as to the one that hit me the hardest. I've spent longer time in my AHSE days but it never brought me to much depression IN is giving me now.

Blockmates.
They were never the perfect blockmates. But that what makes me love them more. They have differences that goes well, which is good. I just plain love them., no questions.

... and it sucks to be away from them, from now on...
